Review & Excerpt Tour for Blood Type by K.A. Linde

A startling new vision of paranormal romance: When a human ventures into the world of vampires—a decadent milieu of blood-bonds and betrayal—she discovers that not all is what it seems.

For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn’t a choice. It’s survival.

In a civilization laid waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He’s everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing—he won’t feed off her.

Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham’s brooding, wicked fa├žade lies a unique and complex man. And that, in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.

For with each passing night, Reyna can’t shake the sensation that it’s Beckham who’s afraid of her.

Note: Reyna and Beckham’s story continues in Blood Match.

That was the moment Beckham appeared in the doorway like a storm cloud.
Reyna straightened in her seat at the expression on his face. He walked across the room like a tightly coiled spring ready to explode.
“Ah Beckham, there you are,” Harrington said.
“Excuse me, William. I need to speak with Reyna. Alone.”
She hastened out of her seat and followed him around the corner. He tugged her straight through the kitchens, out the back door, down a corridor, and into a dead end. Then her back was slammed against the brick wall. His fist connected with the wall behind her, and she felt the wall shudder. Debris floated onto her shoulders.
“You left,” he growled.
“I . . .”
“No.” He pressed his finger to her lips roughly. She stopped breathing and just stared up into his eyes as dark as night. Her body trembled under the feral stare. “You left without me.”
The silence was weighted. All she could do was sit with their bodies nearly touching. His finger on her mouth. Her mind wandering to hellacious places.
“You are my subject. Can you imagine what it was like when I found you missing? When you turned up with three of my kind?” She shook her head minutely. He bared his teeth to her, and she shrank back. “These are meant to drink your blood. To drink you dry until there is nothing left of your body but a dry corpse. We are killers. We don’t hesitate. Just because we’re wearing suits and seem more like you . . . does not mean we are like you. We are not like you. They especially are not like you. The only way you get to the top of Visage is to be fucking ruthless, Reyna. Do you understand?”
“You’re . . . scaring me,” she whispered.
“Good.”

Review: 5 STARS!!

Paranormal is my favorite genre and I just LOVED this book!! It was a different type of vampire book than I am used to reading and that is one of the things I loved about it!!

Reyna went into something that she didn't know what to expect, but she went in for her family. I think Reyna is very brave and not just because of what she is doing for her family, but because when she meets Beckham, she was both terrified and fascinated and instead of cowering, she pushes Beckham and gets under his skin.

Beckham isn't just any ordinary vampire. He is a very powerful and top executive vampire. He is very in control and doesn't like that Reyna makes him lose it. Beckham is probably one the most alpha male characters that I have ever read. He is protective and POSSESSIVE and doesn't like when people get in the way of what is his; and Reyna is his.

These two have such a strong connection and their passion for each other is off the charts!! K.A. Linde really did a fantastic job with these characters and their story and the ending just made me that more anxious for the next book!!

Release Blitz for Blaze by L. Wilder

Title: Blaze
Series: Satan's Fury MC Memphis Chapter #1
Author: L. Wilder
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: April 24, 2018

In Memphis, Tennessee, Satan’s Fury MC had become the most notorious MC in the city. That recognition hadn’t come easy. While people were visiting Graceland and walking down on Beale Street, my brothers and I were at war, fighting rival MCs and gangs who were trying to take control of our territory.

We had staked our claim, but when a new threat arrived, everything we had worked for would be put in jeopardy.
Kenadee Brooks was a nurse, trying to save lives and make a difference in the world. The moment I saw her, it wasn’t just her beauty that caught my eye. It was the light that burned deep inside of her that drew me in. I longed for it, and with each moment I spent with her, the more determined I became to make her mine.
But when she was pulled into my world, saw the life that I lived, would that light still burn bright or would it disappear forever?

As soon as we walked through the door, it was clear that a lot had gone into the renovations. I looked over to Sawyer and said, “Have you been here since they’ve changed everything?”
“A couple of times. Kevin likes to come look at the fish.”
“This is amazing.”
“I was hoping you might like it.”
We spent an hour or so just walking around looking at things and then he asked, “You ready to go up?”
“Sure.” He led me over to the elevator that took us up to the lookout deck. Once we made it up to the top, he reached for my hand and I followed him outside. We stepped out onto the deck, and the view was absolutely incredible. You could see the Mississippi River and all of downtown. “It’s beautiful. I can’t believe I’ve never done this before.”
He slipped his arm around my waist and said, “Not nearly as beautiful as you.”
I rolled my eyes as I said playfully, “Really? I didn’t think a stud like you would need to use a cheesy line like that.”
“I take offense to that.” He chuckled. “I wasn’t using some cheesy line. I was simply giving a compliment to a beautiful lady.”
“Um-hmm. If you say so.” I giggled.
He poked me in the side. “So, you think I’m a stud, huh?”
“You picked up on that one, did ya?”
“You’re the one who said it.” Just then, a surprisingly playful expression crossed his handsome face. “So, you think I’m a stud. I like that. My beauty thinks I’m a stud.”
Shaking my head, I started walking towards the door. “Okay, that’s enough of that.”
“Hey! Where ya going?”
“I’m hungry.” Hoping to distract him from the stud comment, I asked, “How about some lunch?”
“Yeah.” He smiled and patted his stomach. “This stud could go for something to eat.”
Trying to bite back a huge grin, I sighed and said, “Move it stud. This beauty is withering away. I must eat before I starve."

Leslie Wilder grew up in a small town in West Tennessee. Marie: I married a monster -- a member of a motorcycle club. I was okay with him blurring the lines until the lines he crossed turned against me. He wasn’t always a monster, or he hid it well. I wouldn’t have married him if I’d known. By the time his true colors showed, I was pregnant with no way out. Until one day, years of planning paid off, and I was able to run away with my daughter. I found my footing in the foothills of Pennsylvania, thinking I would be far from any MC. I was wrong.
Mickey: As a member of The Devil’s Crusaders, not much escapes me in Wakeman. Especially not the tiny, fiery redhead who strolled into town, so obviously hiding from something. She made my blood boil in the best way possible. I’d avoided taking an old lady, instead, choosing to spend my years raising my daughter. Not anymore. Not since Marie. I was ready, and she was it for me. I just had to find out what she was hiding from before it finally catches up to her.

EXCERPT

Mickey watched me. “So, he’s a biker.”
I was shocked that Mickey picked up on this, I was also a little nervous. What if he knew him? I mean, it’s a great big world and all, and we were far from home, but what if?
“How do you know?” my voice shook.
“Ye ride on the back of a bike like ye always been there. Ye grabbed de foot peg without any hesitation, and ye know what the road can do to those pretty red locks of yers.”
“Stop.” I put my hand up feeling way too exposed in front of Mickey.
Mickey didn’t stop, “He’s a ballless feck. Dinks he’s a man ‘cause he’s got two wheels between his legs and puts his hands on ye proves he’s got no balls. Been doing it for a while too based on the scared look ye carry around wit ye. Any man who thinks he can lay a hand on a woman, especially one as pretty as ye, ballless.” Mickey sneered shaking his head in disgust. I felt confused, and I didn’t like it.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, “Can we go?”
“What’s his name?” he asked ignoring my plea to leave. I shook my head.
“No, not doing this, Mickey.” I turned away from his bike and began to walk away. He wanted to question me? Whatever, I didn't need to answer him. I didn’t owe him anything. I didn’t even know him.
“Marie, stop.” Mickey’s hand touched my elbow, and I flinched on instinct. He put his hands up like I was a scared animal fleeing for safety. It made me mad. How did I let Drake turn me into someone who was afraid of her own shadow?
“I don’t know you, Mickey.”
“Get to know me.”
“Find another cause to take up.”
“Yer not a cause. Yer a woman, a damn feisty one at that.” He said woman like it was important. Like it meant something to him. “Get on. No more talk for today,” Mickey gentled his voice, and for some reason, I listened.

Release Tour & Review for Bound by Destiny by Ryan Michele

Title: Bound by Destiny
Series: Ravage MC Bound #5
Author: Ryan Michele
Published: April 24, 2018

Synopsis

Love knows no names--no bounds--sometimes you're bound by destiny...

Micah's choices and actions when he was young left him estranged from his family--the Ravage MC family. Older and wiser, it's now one of his biggest regrets...along with pushing Emery away.

Emery has been walking a tight rope for far too long. Everything has changed. Dealing with her near death experience, her brother's return, and her parents problems have left her feeling very lost in a world she thought she knew.

Except--sometimes when we are so lost we manage to find exactly where we should be.

Jacks didn't mean for it to happen, but Emery slammed into him like a freight train pushing all the buttons he'd kept locked down for far too long. Jacks though, can't get caught up in a game of who is the better man. Been there, done that, and lost in a big way.

When everything changes, destiny is all we can hold onto. Emery finds herself caught between two very different men unable to keep her heart out of the mix.

Sometimes we bleed for others--and sometimes the past, it just won't let go.

Other times--some people walk away not allowing us to have a choice in the matter...

Those are the times that hurt the most and cut the deepest.

BOUND BY DESTINY (Ravage MC Bound Series #5): NOW AVAILABLE: https://books2read.com/BoundbyDestiny

Review: 5 STARS!!

This book is definitely one that I had assumptions about going into it, and those assumptions were just thrown out the window!! Bound by Destiny is a love triangle and I don't read those kinds of books usually, but this book is so much more than that!!

Emery's character is one of my favorites. She is loving, kind, protective and fierce when she needs to be. When you are someone that Emery cares about, she will put your needs before her own; that is just the type of person she is. She does a lot of soul searching in this book and I loved watching her character grow.

Micah has done a lot of damage within his family. He said some awful things about the Ravage MC that can never be taken out, but he can atone for his mistakes. He has grown up and understands the club life more now than when he was a kid. I understand his reasons on his dislike for the club, I think Ryan did a great job with that, but he is definitely not going to get off easy.

Jacks, oh that alpha male is just so swoon worthy. I loved his protectiveness and possessiveness and his loyalty. I respected him for being Emery's friend and not pressuring her. I respected him when he let Emery decide the outcome. Jacks will mess you up if you mess with his family but with Emery we get to see a softer side which I loved. Jacks' past has kind of jaded him, but Emery proves that she isn't his past.

These 3 characters go through a lot in this book and I loved how everything played out. The heart knows what it wants and I loved the decision that Emery's heart made. I am very excited for the next book in this awesome series!!

Title: Birthday Girl
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Author: Penelope Douglas
Release Date: April 17, 2018

Synopsis:

JORDAN
He took me in when I had nowhere else to go.
He doesn’t use me, hurt me, or forget about me. He doesn’t treat me like I’m nothing, take me for granted, or make me feel unsafe.
He remembers me, laughs with me, and looks at me. He listens to me, protects me, and sees me. I can feel his eyes on me over the breakfast table, and my heart pumps so hard when I hear him pull in the driveway after work.
I have to stop this. It can’t happen.
My sister once told me there are no good men, and if you find one, he’s probably unavailable.
Only Pike Lawson isn’t the unavailable one.
I am.

PIKE
I took her in, because I thought I was helping.
She’d cook a few meals and clean up a little. It was an easy arrangement.
As the days go by, though, it’s becoming anything but easy. I have to stop my mind from drifting to her and stop holding my breath every time I bump into her in the house. I can’t touch her, and I shouldn’t want to.
The more I find my path crossing hers, though, the more she’s becoming a part of me.
But we’re not free to give into this. She’s nineteen, and I’m thirty-eight.
And her boyfriend’s father.
Unfortunately, they both just moved into my house.

*BIRTHDAY GIRL is a stand-alone, contemporary romance suitable for ages 18+.

My Review:
5 STARS!!

Penelope Douglas is one of my FAVORITE authors and this book is hands down, my new #1 FAVORITE book by her!! Birthday Girl is sexy, fun and emotional.
Pike & Jordan are perfect for each other. Honestly, from the moment they meet they have a connection that neither of them have felt before. They understand each other, they can read each other so well and it's like they were fated for each other.
Their situation is definitely not an ordinary one, there are a couple of obstacles and one of the big ones is Pike's fear that he is going to hold Jordan back from living life because of their age difference. I loved how Jordan was a simple woman, she just wanted to be loved by someone whom she loved and start a family. Even at 19, she has an old soul that is different than the average 19 year old.
Pike definitely had to work through some personal issues and seeing things from his side and her side, I understand both. I understand his fear and hesitancy, but at the same time, I understand that Jordan needs to be with someone who will fight for her/them and someone who is a partner with her, not someone who is above her or below her.
I loved Cole, at the end though. His character went through some big changes and I was glad that Penelope wrote out his character like she did. Now Danni, we only get a glimpse of her, but I can already tell that I am going to love her story!! Dutch cracked me up a few times, but he also made me mad with one conversation that he had with Pike. Jay & Elena, they can go do each other and leave everyone else alone.
Pike & Jordan have the most intense, erotic, sensual and just overall hottest intimate scenes!! Seriously, I got hot myself a couple of times and the freaking teasing throughout this book is just torture, a beautiful torture, but torture nonetheless.
Birthday Girl is my #1 read of 2018 and it it my new favorite #1 book by Penelope Douglas and I just CANNOT WAIT for Danni's story!! Thank you Penelope Douglas for sharing Pike & Jordan with us!!
-Elizabeth from Crazii Bitches Book Blog

Excerpt:

Jordan is working at a bar, and Pike comes in to meet friends.

PIKE

“What the hell is she wearing?” I grumble, sliding into the booth.
Dutch turns his head toward me, his drink inches from his lips. “It’s the lingerie show,” he tells me. “They have it every Thursday night. The bartenders and servers don nighties or corsets and serve drinks and food. It’s fun.”
No, not really.
But I look around and see a few other ladies carrying out appetizers and bringing drinks, some of them in very thin attire. At least Jordan’s corset looks as thin as armor.
“But Jordan’s never done it before,” he goes on. “That’s what shocked me. Thought you should know.”
“Why the fuck would I want to know?” I pull a beer out of the ice bucket on the table.
“Yeah, sorry.” He turns away, mumbling into his glass, “You seem like you couldn’t care less.”
I shoot him a sideways look, hearing the laughter in his words.
Sticking the beer back in the bucket, untouched, I rise and head to the bar. I hear a snort behind me, but I don’t care. She’s kind of my responsibility, and I don’t want her doing things like this, because she thinks she needs money.
There’s only one bartender besides Jordan. The owner, Shel. I’m sure she hasn’t forgotten me, so I veer to the opposite end and catch Jordan’s attention as she pops the tops from a line of six bottles of beer.
“What the hell are you wearing?” I lean in, speaking as quietly as I can.
She jerks her head toward me, meets my eyes, and quickly turns away again like I’m the last person she wants to deal with right now.
She hands over the beers, collects the cash and spins around, punching the screen in front of her. “It’s fine,” she assures me. “It’s just a corset, Pike.”
“They are all looking at you.”
She nods, smiling sarcastically. “That’s the point.”
“Jordan,” I sigh, trying to whisper as I squeeze around some old dude at the bar. “This is a small town. What if your father were to walk in?”
“He doesn’t come in here,” she says, closing the register drawer and finally looking at me. “And neither do you, normally.” A blush crosses her cheeks. “Besides, I’m not stupid. I wouldn’t take part in something I thought would humiliate me.”
She turns and hands the change back to the customer, but he waves her off, letting her keep it. She smiles and turns back around, dropping the bills into an already overflowing canister.
“What are you even doing here?” she says, starting to mix another drink. “I thought you were sitting the bachelor party out, because…” She sets the bottle down and does air quotes as she imitates my growling voice, “‘there needed to be at least one sober person at work tomorrow’.”
I arch a brow at her. I don’t sound like that.
Reaching into my pocket, I pull out the flyer and push it over the bar at her.
She stills, and her face goes ashen. “Where did you find that?”
She grabs it and dumps it somewhere under her. To a trash can probably.
Taking a napkin, she sets it in front of a customer and gives him the fresh drink she just made.
“If you need money,” I tell her, “I’ll lend you whatever you need, okay?”
And she stops, slowly turning her eyes on me. Her gaze sharpens, angry, and she looks like she wants to yell at me, but she doesn’t. Instead she whips around and barrels down the bar and through the partition, turning only enough to crook a finger at me before she twirls back around and heads down the hallway.
My stomach sinks. I really don’t mean to piss her off as much as I do. What did I say now?
Veering through the crowd, I make my way down the empty hallway, finally coming to the same room she was crying in when I pissed her off the last time.
Entering through the open door, I see her standing with her hands on her hips and her head cocked at me.
“I would rather eat from a dumpster than take money from you,” she bites out.
I should shut up. But God help me, I can’t. “Hate to break it to you, but you already do,” I tell her. “You live in a house where you pay no rent or utilities, young lady.”
“I cook and clean for you!” she shouts, but I doubt anyone can hear us back here and through the music. “I pay my way, you arrogant prick!”
“Alright, alright,” I growl, blinking long and hard. “You’re right, okay? But, Jordan, men will get ideas. They’ll think they have a free pass and they can touch what belongs to my son. You’re embarrassing him.”
“Your son?” she mocks, laughing. “Well, you just missed him, actually. He already saw me, and he doesn’t care, Pike. He thought I looked good, and then he left with his friends. He doesn’t care!”
“Well, I care!”
The words are out of my mouth before I can stop them, and I freeze, almost too afraid to breathe.
Oh, shit. What did I just say?

Blog Tour & Review for The Plan by Katie Ashley

BLURB:

For Jenny O’Malley, the plan was supposed to be easy. Become the surrogate for her friends, Connor and Jeff, deliver their healthy baby, and earn some money towards her student loans. But as the saying goes, the best-laid plans often go awry. Especially when you’re looking at the prospect of not getting laid for a long, long time.

With T-Minus two weeks to insemination, Jenny decides to take her friend, Casey’s, suggestion to have one wild fling before she’s saddled with heartburn and stretchmarks. When a tall, dark and handsome man swaggers into the bar where she works in skin-tight jeans, cowboy boots, and a Stetson, Jenny knows he is the one. After a scorching night of banging boots until dawn, Jenny is a little sad to see her Cowboy in Shining Armor leave.

When he reenters her life a few weeks later, she never could have imagined a positive sign could be such a negative.

**NEW RELEASE** - THE PLAN by Katie Ashley - Now LIVE!

Review: 4 STARS!!

This was a really sweet and steamy novella and I enjoyed reading it!!

Brett & Jenny have a one night stand. Point blank, it was amazing and Jenny won't ever forget it any time soon, but with her life about to become crazy, one night is all she can have with him.

I loved the unconventional idea around this novella, because I haven't read many books like this before. When Brett re-enters Jenny's life, things start to become really complicated. Brett is definitely shocked when he finds out who Jenny is, but then again, everything happens for a reason, it's how you deal with it that will determine the outcome.

Katie Ashley really wrote a good novella that I enjoyed reading and I definitely want to go back and read her Proposition series!!

Zack
Finding my teammate in bed with my wife made the decision I had been fighting with for years easier.
It’s time to move on.
A fresh start and a new NHL team in a big city. Most importantly, it’s my son Jack’s best shot.
It would be both of our best shots.
Denise
After a bad childhood, I made sure I would succeed, so I lived for my job.
The problem is I die a little with each patient I lose. It’s part of my career at Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital, but it doesn’t make the sting of loss any easier.
Seeking anything other than a life saved isn’t on my agenda until a NHL player walks into my hospital with his son.
We’re officially off script the moment we meet.
If this love is anything, it’s unscripted.
“Zack.” I hear her voice and just look at my wife. The woman who said she would love me in good times and in bad yet is currently holding a sheet to cover her naked body. The four-carat engagement with matching eternity wedding ring glistens in the light. “It’s just ...” she starts to say, and I look over at the man in bed next to her. In our bed.
“It’s over.” I say the two words I swore I wouldn’t say no matter how hard it got. No matter how much I saw her push me away, no matter that I always suspected she was cheating on me. Then I look over at the man who I called a brother, the man who stood by my side on and off the ice. “You’re scum.”
“It just happened,” Colton says, getting out of the bed. At least he’s wearing boxers. His knee is still wrapped from the operation he had last month, which is why he wasn’t on the road with us, which is how I surprised them.
We were on the road for the whole week and due back tomorrow, but I hightailed it out of there to get home to my family and my son. “It just so happened you walked into my house and slept with my wife?” I ask him, and I have to wonder why I’m not more pissed, why I’m not more angry with them. “You come here and sleep with my wife with my son under the same roof.”
“Zack,” my wife says, and I look over at her again. Tears are rolling down her cheeks, her perfectly made up face now streaked with the black mascara she always wears. “Please let’s ...”
I shake my head, putting my hands in my pockets. “Let’s what? Let’s talk about this?” I throw my head back and laugh. “Let’s talk about the fact that our son is in his room dying. Let’s talk about the fact that instead of helping him, you’re just helping yourself. Let’s talk about the fucking fact that instead of being there by his side with me, you chose to escape the fucking reality that our son won’t make it to six years old.”
“No.” She shakes her head, and I know that I’ve about had it.
“I’ll give you an hour,” I tell them both. “One hour and I want you packed and at the door when I come back.”
“But—” she says.
“But nothing, Chantal. You did what you had to do for you, and now I’m doing what I need to do for our son.”
I turn and walk out of our bedroom, then down the winding staircase that leads to the big brass front doors. Once outside in the warm Arizona air, I take my phone out of my pocket and call the only person I know who has my back no matter what. My agent and best friend, Jamie.
He answers after one ring, and it doesn’t surprise me he sleeps with his phone in his hand. “What’s up?” he says, his voice sleepy since it’s four a.m. in New York.
“I want out of Arizona, make the trade. Call the powers that be; I want out,” I tell him, getting into my Range Rover.
“You can’t just demand that,” he says, and I hear sheets rustle.
“Just walked in on Colton fucking my wife, so you can bet your ass I can. Make it happen. Call New York because it’s the only place I’ll go. I don’t care if I take a pay cut.”
“That fucking scumbag,” he says. “I’ll call them now.”
“Jamie, there is a top-notch doctor who specializes in cancer in New York. Max Horton’s sister,” I tell him quietly and slowly drive out of my gate.
“I’ll make it happen,” he says softly. “I’ll let you know what they say.”
“Jamie, I’m leaving here in a week regardless of what they say,” I tell him and disconnect the call.
“One week,” I say to myself. “One fucking week.”

Review: 5 STARS!!

This is the first book by Natasha Madison that I have read and I really enjoyed it!! Something So Unscripted was a very emotional read that gripped my heart and half the time I didn't know if it was going to break or not.

Zack & Denise are two characters who come together under very melancholy circumstances. Denise is an oncology pediatric doctor and Zack's son is a patient of hers. They know nothing can happen, especially since she is his son's doctor, but the connection that they share is deep and you just know that these two people, well three people, are meant to be together.

Zack is coming out of a very unhealthy marriage and isn't in the right mind frame for another relationship, but meeting Denise changes all of that. Denise didn't grow up with unconditional love; her parents were both alcoholics who abandoned her, but her brother took her in and raised her. She has a big and kind heart and when she meets Zack & his son, she knows they are special.

The romance was a slow burn and when they finally got together, it was so passionate. Denise's relationship with Zack's son was one that a mother and son should have. It broke my heart that Zack's son was so eager to please his mom and she just kept letting him down. I love the fact that Zack does anything and everything for his son.

This book definitely had me crying and laughing and swooning. I am definitely glad I took a chance on this author and I cannot wait for what she comes out with next!

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
