Review: 5 STARS!!

OH MY GOSH...Cameo FINALLY gets her book and I LOVED it!!! I have been fascinated with Cameo's character since the first book in this series and with every passing book, I was always wondering when Cameo was going to get hers, and the time has finally come!!

Lazarus & Cameo are PERFECT for each other. Lazarus The Cruel & Unusual was exactly that, except with Cameo. All he wanted was to make her smile and drown her in pleasure. He wanted to mark Cameo in ways that usual people wouldn't imagine, and he wanted to mark her so she would never forget him, again. Cameo is on a quest to meet Lazarus and to experience the pleasure that only he can bring her, but she is scared and doubtful. Her demon doesn't let her have happiness and that is a problem, but not one that Lazarus doesn't welcome to overcome.

Lazarus is more than just cruel and wanting to please Cameo, he is also out for vengeance against a certain goddess and a certain harpy. He was used and violated in some of the worst ways. I really felt bad for Lazarus, but at the same time, this man is strong and in command of some very terrifying creatures, so I definitely would put my money of Lazarus winning any fight in went in to. I loved how he pushed Cameo, but at the same time, he nurtured her and just wanted to make her happy. Not many people can even be in the same room with Cameo, but Lazarus relishes his time with her, even though he is at war about it in his head, because of what happens to his kind when they find their soul mates.

Cameo is seriously, such a sweetheart. I loved her character in general, but I really loved how she was with children and how she thought of others before herself. She was astounded that Lazarus could be in the same room as her and even hear her talk without wanting to kill himself. She knows that she and Lazarus have a past connection, but her demon takes any happy memories and erases them, so she doesn't remember, but she has a feeling and she follows that feeling all the way into his domain. Cameo's loyalty was profound. Even when she thought she would never see Lazarus again, she went into a situation with her knives out and ready to defend him. The other Lords of the Underworld and their women love Cameo and I love how protective they are of her. Cameo is definitely my favorite!

The passion that is between Lazarus and Cameo is so deep and embedded into each other, that when they do come together, you don't know where one starts and the other finishes. Gena Showalter wrote an amazing story that has elements of fantasy, drama, romance and suspense. This whole series is just absolutely amazing and I am really hoping for a certain woman in the mirror and the man who has her mirror get a book, because I swear, they are twisted but would be so good together!! Uh, there is just so much love I have for this book and series and I am just so excited for the next book to come out!!
