Synopsis

After years of trying to hit it big with his band, Adam Rees' dream is finally about to come true. A new lead singer brings with him a hot tour invite, but with a catch--his sister has to come with them. Despite an off-limits edict, Adam is instantly attracted to the smart and beautiful Landry. But if he wants to claim his woman, it might be at the expense of all his ambitions.

Landry Olsen has had success at every stage in her life, except when it comes to men. She's put her heart on the shelf, but one look at Adam and she's a goner. The hot rockers heats her from the inside out, and she wants him as much as he wants her. The only thing standing in their way of their happiness is Landry's brother--she ruined his musical hopes before, and she won't do it again. Even if it means saying no to the one guy who makes her believe in love again.

There's no fruit more tempting than the forbidden kind...

Review: 4 STARS!!

This is the first book in the Woodlands series that I have read and I enjoyed it. Adam & Landry were unique characters with a story that fit them perfectly.

Right from the beginning, Landry effects Adam, even before she meets him. Adam sees her out in the crowd and can't take his eyes off of her. Adam & Landry are opposites, but you know the saying, "opposites attract," and that is definitely the case here. Adam is controlled chaos (if that makes sense). He has a handle on his life, but from the outside looking in, his life looks crazy and messy. Landry is kind of weak in some aspects. I kept wanting her to just go for things and when she wouldn't, I just kind of disconnected with her character. I do love how supportive and sweet she is though. She is also a dreamer, which I found endearing, but at the same time, annoying because I just wanted her to go after those dreams.

These two characters have a slow burn relationship; I wish it had been a little more lively in some aspects, but I did love the anticipation. They have obstacles to overcome, more so than normal couples, but that is what made this book a little more interesting.

I will definitely be going back and reading the previous books in this series, and I cannot wait to see what Jen Frederick comes out with next!!
