Jonah Steel is knee deep into trying to solve the mystery surrounding his family and his brother’s abduction, and the arrival of his best friend has complicated the situation…although not as much as his infatuation with his brother’s therapist, Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The quiet humility of the blond beauty has him enthralled, and he burns for her as he never has for any woman.  Melanie Carmichael is intelligent and driven, yet filled with regret. She has fallen in love with gorgeous Jonah Steel, but fears she may never be able to tell him. The demons from her past have come for her…and she may not get out alive.

Review: 5 STARS!!!

This is the first book by Helen Hardt and I truly enjoyed it!! Since I started with this book, I was a little confused at first about what was happening and who everyone was, but as I kept reading, I was intrigued and everything was coming together. I am for sure going to go back and start from book 1. I definitely recommend reading the books in order, since everything ties into each book. The order is Craving, Obsession, Possession, Melt & then Burn.

Melanie is a true professional and loves her job, but her attraction to Jonah, a patients brother, really is getting under her skin. I loved the inner turmoil of Melanie and Jonah. It made their characters more real to me. Melanie is a tough character and it really shows in the beginning of this book. I was seriously on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. I loved that that experience opened her eyes, but at the same time, my heart hurt for her. I think the fact that it didn't bring her down, but made her more determined and gave her more courage.

Jonah was determined to to show Melanie that they would be good together, but when she runs away from him, he gets angry and misses her call when she calls him. I felt so bad that Jonah has guilt about what happened to Melanie, just because he was holding onto his anger, but at the same time, I understood why he was angry. Jonah was a very deep character. He has secrets on top of guilt on top of determination to find his brother's abductors. The man has a lot on his plate, but I loved that his character was still sweet, especially to Melanie.

The passion between Jonah & Melanie was HOT and their connection was just so profound and tangible. This book was filled with angst, suspense, passion & will take your emotions on a ride that you won't want to get off. I HIGHLY recommend reading the books in order!! I am very excited for the next book in this amazing series!!
